LIGHTS AT LAFARGE
Saturday & Sunday 4 pm – 10 pm, LaFarge Lake, Coquitlam
There is still time to enjoy this gorgeous light display that encircles the 1.2 km Lafarge Lake loop. It starts at dusk and stays on until 10 pm. Lace up your walking shoes (or slip on your rain boots) and embark on this beautiful lake loop.
CANYON LIGHTS
Saturday & Sunday, Capilano Suspension Bridge, North Vancouver
Another beautiful light attraction that runs this weekend and the next. Capilano Suspension Bridge’s beautiful Canyon Lights is well worth the visit. Journey into the rainforest and walk high above the forest floor between the eight tallest Christmas trees in the world on Treetops Adventure. And the gorgeous “Arc de Lumina” light tunnel will once again wrap its way along a portion of Cliffwalk.
LIGHTS TO THE LODGE
Saturday and Sunday, Cypress Mountain
Enjoy the beautiful snowy snowshoe trek to Hollyburn Lodge, only 1.5km along our self guided snowshoe trail! The Light to the Lodge loop is lit with LED lights strung sustainably through the forest boughs of ancient Cedar, Fir and Hemlock trees.
RIVER BASIN DAYS: WINTER WEATHER WONDERS
Saturday 2 pm – 3 pm, Surrey Bend Regional Park
River Basin Days is a series of outdoor public programs for families. Staff will guide you through one hour of activities, experiments, and art projects as we learn about the biodiversity of this great river. This month, the program heads to Surrey Bend Regional Park to learn all about the winter weather! Registration cost includes admission to the Fraser River Discovery Centre. Pay when you register for this workshop, and the next time you visit the Centre in-person, you will be admitted for free.
UBC BASKETBALL
Saturday 4 pm & 6 pm, War Memorial Gym
It’s a great weekend to head out to UBC and watch some exciting basketball action. The UBC Women and Men take on UNBC. Tip off for the women’s game is 4 pm, with men’s game to follow at 6 pm. Great, affordable family entertainment!
VANCOUVER COMIC CON
Sunday 11 am – 5 pm, Heritage Hall, Vancouver
A comic book and collectors show where all are welcome. Kids under 14 are free and there are free comics for kids.
