Family Events for the Weekend of June 24 & 25

GREEK DAY ON BROADWAY

Sunday 11 am – 9 pm, along Broadway between Macdonald to Blenheim

An annual community street festival that spans multiple blocks, bringing together locals and visitors alike to celebrate the rich heritage and culture of Greece. Great food and entertainment.

POINT GREY FIESTA

Saturday 12 pm – 9 pm & Sunday 12 pm – 5 pm, Trimble Park, Vancouver

A great neighbourhood carnival with lots of rides. Young children like the Kiddie Cars and Gator Coaster while older children will enjoy bumper cars or the Sizzler. Families will enjoy the ferris wheel together. Feeling daring? Try a ride on the Lightning Bolt or the Zero Gravity and Zipper rides. Awesome fun for everyone!

SCANDINAVIAN MIDSUMMER FESTIVAL

Saturday 10 am – 11 pm & Sunday 10 am – 4 pm, Scandinavian Community Centre, Burnaby

Two days of live music with the a number of individual artists, groups and choirs. There will be performances by the Scandinavian Dancers and the Vikings in the Viking Village, including songs, games and a real Viking raid – beware of the Norse! There will also be cultural displays, kids’ activities, a troll forest, carnival games and a vintage Volvo car show.

LYNN VALLEY DAYS

Saturday 7 am – 7 pm, Lynn Valley Park, North Vancouver

A great neighbourhood gathering that kicks off with a pancake breakfast and a community parade, with games and large inflatable bouncy toys for the kids. Plus maypole dancing, face painters and more.

THE 2023 DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL

Saturday & Sunday, False Creek

The 2023 Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival is set to welcome 100,000 visitors and racers to celebrate its 35th anniversary. Enjoy watching dragon boat races and guests can enjoy a variety of food trucks.

NORTH DELTA FAMILY DAY AND PARADE

Sunday 11 am – 4 pm, North Delta Community Park

A festival with a parade, live music, children’s entertainment, kids zone, a zero gravity bike show, community booths and food trucks.

TEDDY BEAR PICNIC

Saturday 11 am – 2 pm, St. Andrew’s Park, 11th Street at St. George’s Avenue in North Vancouver

Grab your favourite teddy bear and join in the fun! St. Andrew’s United Church invites the public to attend its annual Teddy Bear Picnic. There will also be a bear doctor, children’s entertainment and music, food, a book bike from the North Vancouver Public Library, and more!

HILLCREST SUMMER FESTIVAL

Saturday 11 am – 3 pm, Riley Park, Vancouver

Entertainment, community groups, carnival themed activities, concession, good, games and more.

STRATHCONA COMMUNITY CENTRE SUMMER KICK OFF

Saturday 11 am – 2 pm, 601 Keefer Street

A free fun festival for all that includes a bouncy castle, carnival games, arts and crafts, popcorn, a bbq and more.

BURNABY PINOY FESTIVAL

Saturday 10 am – 7 pm, Burnaby Civic Square (Metrotown) 

Experience the sights and sounds of the Philippines in Burnaby. The “Pinoy Festival is part of June Filipino Heritage Month celebrations and it will be a showcase of traditional dances, cultural performances, small business vendors and artisans, live bands, Filipino food, food trucks and more. It’s a free family friendly event.

THE VIMFF SUMMER FEST

Saturday 3 pm – 9 pm, The Shipyards, North Vancouver

A free, family-friendly outdoor event that features award-winning mountain films, live performances, an artisan market, food trucks, a beer garden, fun activities and more!

RCMP MUSICAL RIDE

Saturday 1 pm & 5 pm, Sunday 3 pm, Cloverdale Fairgrounds, Surrey

The Musical Ride troop will be performing three spectacular shows at the Stetson Bowl on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds , where audiences will have the chance to see riders take part in intricate formations and drills set to music. Surrey RCMP will also be on site at the Fairgrounds to welcome the community to its annual Open House: a free event featuring hands-on activities, demonstrations, and family fun.
