Family Events for the Weekend of June 17 & 18

SURREY FEST DOWNTOWN

Saturday 11 am – 4 pm, Holland Park, Surrey

Formerly known as the Whalley Community Festival, this event is for all ages. Come and view the exhibits, check out the live entertainment and enjoy some yummy food.

STRATHCONA BLOCKS PARTY

Saturday 12 pm – 5 pm, 600 – 900 Blocks of East Hastings, Vancouver

The Blocks Party will feature live music and performances by local artists, such as the East Van Horns Band and Marlin Ramazzini Band, local food trucks serving delicious bites, and large scale outdoor games and activities for all to enjoy.

DOUGLAS PARK COMMUNITY DAY

Saturday 11 am – 2 pm, Douglas Park, Vancouver

Live music, a magic show, zumba demo, bouncy castle, refreshments and more. A lovely neighbourhood gathering at one of Vancouver’s best playgrounds/parks.

SCOTFEST BC

Saturday 7 am – 10 pm, Sunday 10 am – 5 pm, Town Centre Park, Coquitlam

A Scottish festival at Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam. Activities include piping, Highland dancing, a beer garden, British food and live entertainment.

INTERNATIONAL PICNIC DAY

Saturday 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm, Royal Kwantlen Park, Surrey

Bring a picnic along to Royal Kwantlen Park and drop in with your family to connect through nature and play. Borrow sports equipment, and try fun outdoor games. Park Play is offering a variety of self-directed park activities for you and your family to enjoy!

INDIGENOUS PEOPLE’S DAY

Saturday 10 am – 2 pm, Memorial Peace Park, Maple Ridge

Indigenous People’s Day is a celebration of the unique heritage, diverse culture and outstanding achievements of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples in Canada. Everyone is welcome for a full day of storytelling, dancing, drumming, art exhibits, crafts, food and more traditional activities.

SOUTH ASIAN FAMILY FESTIVAL

Sunday 12 pm – 8 pm, PNE Grounds

The inaugural South Asian Family Festival (SAF Festival) will welcome thousands of guests of all ages for a fun, family-friendly event and include rides, music, arts, and culture in a full day of programming.

FATHER’S DAY AT THE BURNABY VILLAGE MUSEUM

Sunday 11 am – 4:30 pm, Burnaby Village Museum

Celebrate Father’s Day at the Burnaby Village Museum with a variety of activities including a new exhibit, “Truths Not Often Told: Being South Asian in Burnaby.” Take part in a scavenger hunt and ride the carousel. Play children’s carnival games, and enjoy live music performances.

FATHER’S DAY AT THE FARM

Sunday 12 pm – 4 pm, Historic Stewart Farm, Surrey

It is free to visit this museum, and on Father’s Day the Historic Stewart Farm will feature the Greater Vancouver Garden Railway Club which will be onsite with a large-scale model railway display on the lawn.

BC FAMILY FISHING WEEKEND

Saturday & Sunday, across BC

This is your opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors with loved ones ( a good idea for Father’s Day) and learn the joys of fishing. No license is needed to fish anywhere in BC Friday through Sunday.

FARM DAY AT GRANVILLE ISLAND KIDS MARKET

Sunday 12 pm, Kids Market, Granville Island

Visit the super fun Kids Market and join in “farm day” where you can meet lots of amazing animals visiting from Cinemazoo Petting Zoo, including “Princess Aurora” the miniature horse!
