LAND, SEA AND SKY: CELEBRATE EARTH DAY AT VANIER PARK

Saturday 10 am – 3pm, Vanier Park, Vancouver

Celebrate Earth Day at Vanier Park—and the traditional village site of Sen̓áḵw —with three of your favourite spaces! The Museum of Vancouver, the Vancouver Maritime Museum and the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre join forces as representations of land, sea and sky to honour the Earth on April 20 with kid-friendly activities! Activities and programs will be featured at each site throughout the day. Regular admission fees apply for the Space Centre, admission to MOV and the Maritime Museum are by donation.

MAPLE RIDGE EARTH DAY

Saturday 10 am – 2 pm, Memorial Peace Park, Maple Ridge

Enjoy this Earth Day community festival which includes activities such as entertainment stages, Museum on the Move, the Family Freecycle, a Repair Café, flash mobs, Food Trucks, and the Haney Farmers Market, celebrating their 20th anniversary.

SUPER SATURDAY

Saturday 10 am – 4 pm, Fraser River Discovery Centre, New Westminster

Super Saturdays is a series of public programs geared towards families. Join as we celebrate the important work that pollinators do to help keep the Fraser watershed fertilized, nourished, and thriving. Early spring is a wonderful time to get to know the bats, butterflies, and birds hard at work. Without them, plant life in the Fraser River basin would have a very hard time growing fruits or seeds.

SWEET SPRING AT GREENDALE ACRES

Saturday 10 am – 7 pm & Sunday 10 am – 5 pm, Greendale Acres Farm, Chilliwack

A family-friendly spring flower and baby animal festival at a farm in Chilliwack.

ABBOTSFORD TULIP FESTIVAL

Saturday & Sunday 8 am – dark, Lakeland Flowers, 39171 No 4 Road, Abbotsford

Lakeland Flowers is sharing a time-honoured Dutch tradition spanning 27 acres in the heart of the Fraser Valley. With 5 kms of tulip-lined pathways, you will have the opportunity to walk among 70+ varieties of tulips, blooming in all different colours, shapes, and sizes.

BRICKCAN 2024 LEGO EXHIBITION

Saturday & Sunday 9 am – 4 pm, River Rock Casino, Richmond

BrickCan – Western Canada’s largest LEGO Exhibition – is back featuring new amazing displays! Hundreds of LEGO builders from around the world will travel to Vancouver, bringing with them amazing models that they have spent countless hours designing and building. Spend 2 hours in the giant exhibit hall, including access to brick vendors with LEGO sets, special pieces, artwork, T-shirts, gifts, and more available for purchase. (tickets are for two hour time slots)

COQUITLAM CARNIVAL

Saturday & Sunday 12 pm – 10 pm, Coquitlam Centre

The largest Canadian midway operation in Western Canada is coming to Coquitlam Centre! West Coast Amusements has rides for all ages and all levels of riding. We have over 100 rides to choose from, and your all-day wristband will let you ride all of them (if you can).

INLET SPRING REGATTA

Saturday 8 am – 5 pm, Rocky Point Park, Port Moody

The Inlet Spring Regatta is an annual dragon boat race event held on Burrard Inlet in the City of Port Moody at Rocky Point Park. It features 200m races in BUK boats and attracts teams from throughout BC. Inlet Regatta is the first dragon boat event of the season and features live music, yoga, a DJ, food trucks, vendors and a beer garden.

VANCOUVER SUN RUN

Sunday 8 am – 11 am, Throughout downtown Vancouver

It’s Canada’s largest 10 km race and a good one to be aware of as it comes with lots of road closures! Even if you aren’t in to running it, it is lots of fun to line the route and cheer on the thousands of runners.

SURREY VAISAKHI PARADE

Saturday 9:30 am – 4 pm, Gurdwara Sahib Dasmesh Darbar Temple, Surrey

Every April, millions of Sikhs world-wide celebrate Vaisakhi Day, a day that marks the New Year. Considered one of the most important festivals in the Sikh calendar, parades celebrating the event are held in Sikh communities around the world. The largest Vaisakhi Parade in the world occurs in Surrey, where approximately 500,000 people attend the annual Surrey Khalsa Day Vaisakhi Parade.

FOOD TRUCK WARS

Saturday 11 am – 9 pm, Sunday 11 am – 8 pm, KPU Campus, Langley

Over 45 food trucks will be battling it out at KPU Langley Campus. Fun For The Whole Family! Bring the kids and enjoy the bounce houses, chalk and craft station, facepainting, games, and on Sunday only special appearances from Spidey and Spider Gwen from 2-5pm!
