Family Events for the Weekend of October 29 & 30

TRICKS & TREATS

Saturday and Sunday, PNE Fairgrounds

This brand new experience is ideal for kids and scaredy-cat adults. It takes place during the day at Playland and includes rides, games, a candy scavenger hunt, and other surprises along the way! Costumes are welcomed and encouraged. Three of the haunted houses will be open, but the monsters will be resting (not as scary).

PARADE OF LOST SOULS

Saturday 7 pm – 10 pm, hourly processions, Britannia Community Centre, Vancouver

Parade of Little Souls is for the children who want to join in on the colourful and dazzling festivities! Join the family-friendly procession and meet us at the Britannia Library. Procession starts at 7pm. Join in the workshops leading up to the event (registration separately). Live dance, and family friendly entertainment.

GREAT GRAND BOULEVARD PUMPKIN WALK

Saturday 4 pm – 7 pm, Grand Boulevard, North Vancouver

Put on your costume and sip some free hot cocoa while you check out over 200 jack-o-lanterns along Grand Boulevard. There will be food trucks, live music and lots of family fun.

FIN-TASTIC FALL DAYS

Saturday and Sunday 10 am – 5 pm, Vancouver Aquarium

The final weekend for Fin-Tastic Fall Days. Get your hands-on in the new Spooky Wet Lab and experience up-close encounters with colorful snakes, super cool spiders and more. Embark on an immersive adventure with a new Splash and Bubbles 4-D Experience® and explore among more than 65,000 amazing animals, all surrounded by fun and festive fall decor.

THE POINT GREY VILLAGE PUMPIN WALK

Saturday, 3 pm – 5 pm, Point Grey Village Plaza

Family fun! Wear your Halloween costume and join the plaza for some neighbourhood fun with more than 100 pumpkins.

TRICK OR TREAT IN DUNBAR VILLAGE

Saturday 3 pm – 5 pm, Dunbar Village

This non-scary Halloween event is perfect for the little ones. The businesses in three areas of Dunbar village will be handing out treats to all.

KITS HOUSE PUMPKIN CARVING EVENT

Saturday, 12 pm – 3 pm, Kits House, the corner of 7th and Vine

All ages are welcome to this free event that offers pumpkins by donations, pumpkin carving stations, face painting, refreshments and more.

HALLOWEEN ON ICE

Sunday, 5:30 pm – 7 pm, Kerrisdale Arena

Head to the arena for free skating and skate rentals and refreshments. Come in costume and skate around to some spooky tunes.

HALLOWEEN AT KIDS MARKET

Sunday 11 am – 2 pm, Kids Market at Granville Island

Dress up your little ones for some Trick or Treating with a loot bag and goodies. While quantities last!

HERITAGE HALLOWEEN

Saturday, 12 pm – 3 pm, Mackin House, Coquitlam

Admission is free for this outdoor (rain or shine) event. Enjoy the haunted mystery train station, take a photo with a princess or super hero, get your face painted and make some crafts.

HALLOWEEN DAYS IN DOWNTOWN MAPLE RIDGE

Saturday and Sunday, Haney Farmer’s Market and Haney Place Mall, Maple Ridge

On Saturday head to the Haney Farmer’s Market from 9 am – 2 pm for fun pumpkin crafts, candy and more. On Sunday, head to Haney Place Mall from 12 pm – 3 pm for Trick or Treating, plus fun activities and crafts.

STRATHCONA SPOOKY-NOON

Saturday 11 am – 1 pm, Strathcona Community Centre

This event is aimed at kids aged 2 – 8 years old. Register online or by phone. Come in costume and participate in game activities and collect a goodie bag.

EERIE ILLUSIONS

Saturday and Sunday, 5:30 pm – 10:30 pmBurnaby Village Museum

This self-guided family friendly Halloween experience is suitable for all ages. Visitors are encouraged to come in costume and explore Burnaby Village Museum’s 10 acre venue. Utilizing state-of-the-art lighting, projections, soundscapes and special effects, Eerie Illusions will thrill and amaze.

CANYON FRIGHTS

Saturday and Sunday, 10 am – 8 pmCapilano Suspension Bridge

Decorated with festive pumpkins and spooky displays, the Park is the place to be to celebrate the autumn season and revel in the frightful fun of Halloween. Kids of all ages can join in Halloween-themed games or complete the Canyon Frights Scavenger Hunt to win prizes! Explore the Park, take Instagram-worthy photos and visit the beautiful birds of Raptors Ridge. And if you buy a year membership, it will be good to visit again for the Canyon Christmas lights too!

SCARECROW STROLL

Saturday and Sunday, 9 am – 6 pmArt’s Nursery Garden and Home, Surrey

See 60+ Unique Scarecrows, get Photos in the Pop-up Pumpkin Patch, enjoy Weekend Live Music and Food Trucks, Scavenger Hunt and more!

THE HAUNTED SEA

Saturday & Sunday 10 am – 5 pm, The Gulf of Georgia Cannery, Steveston

Explore the darkest depths of the ocean in the transformed Herring Reduction Plant and encounter colourful creatures and aquatic displays, created made from upcycled materials, to learn about the plastic haunting our seas! Drop-in any time to explore at your leisure. Suitable for kids of all ages.

BRITANNIA MINE MUSEUM’S SPOOKTACULAR HALLOWEEN

Saturday & Sunday 10 am – 4 pm, Britannia Mine Museum

The theme is “treasures of the deep” for these Halloween festivities. Enjoy some spooky activities and search for hidden treasures as you tour the mine.

HARVEST DAYS

Saturday & Sunday 10 am – 5 pmVan Dusen Gardens

Celebrate the fall season at VanDusen Botanical Garden with Harvest Days! The veggie garden and maze area will be transformed for fall with fun photo areas, activities and entertainment, tasty treats and more. Visitors of all ages are welcome. Book a time slot online in advance.

HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN EXPRESS

Saturday & Sunday 10 am – 4 pmBear Creek Park, Surrey

Enjoy the pumpkin express train, which is open until Halloween. Each child who paid an admission will receive a treat to enjoy on the pumpkin express train as it travels through the decorated forest. When they leave, kids will get a small pumpkin. There is also a scary nighttime train for kids aged 12 yrs and up.
