RIVER BASIN DAYS: CAMPBELL VALLEY REGIONAL PARK
Saturday, 2 pm – 3 pm, Campbell Valley Regional Park
This Saturday’s event is part of a series of outdoor public programs hosted by the Fraser River Discovery Centre, geared towards families. This workshop is being held at Campbell Valley Regional Park, Langley and participants will use all the senses to learn more about the nature. There will be 5 fun activities, each designed to highlight one of our senses. Click on the link to register.
CUSTOMER APPRECIATION DAY: TREASURE HUNT
Sunday, 12 pm, Kids Market Granville Island
Some fun taking place at Kids Only Market on Granville Island. Head to the table on the main floor to pick up your treasure hunt clues, finish the hunt and enter the draw for one of two Nintendo switch bundles.
All finished treasure hunts will also get a candy pack from the Granville Island Licorice Parlour as a completion prize.
ARTS AND CRAFTS FOR KIDS
Sunday, 10 am – 1pm and 1 pm – 3 pm, Pacific Arts Market, 1448 W. Broadway
Spend a few hours of fun painting and dancing at the Pacific Arts Market. This art destination has endless inspiration and creates the perfect atmosphere for your children to create.
HOT CHOCOLATE FESTIVAL
This is the 12th year of the hot chocolate festival and you can check out 100 different hot chocolate designs at 67 participating locations. Head to the website to see all the participating locations.
SOAR OVER TAIWAN
Saturday and Sunday, Fly Over Canada, Canada Place
It’s almost time to ring in the year of the Tiger, so what better time to check out the ‘Soar Over Taiwan’ show now on at Fly Over Canada.
LIGHTS AT LAFARGE
Saturday and Sunday, Lafarge Lake, Coquitlam
This is one of the last weekends to visit Lafarge Lake. I highly recommend it! Head to Coquitlam and enjoy a beautifully lit loop around the lake. Stroller friendly and great for all ages. It runs until the end of January.
CANYON LIGHTS
Saturday and Sunday, Capilano Suspension Bridge
This is also one of the last weekends to visit the holiday lights at the Capilano Suspension Bridge. It’s a great outing with the kids, climb up among the trees and enjoy all of the gorgeous light displays.
UNIVERSITY SPORTS
Saturday, University of British Columbia
There are a bunch of different games taking place this Saturday up at UBC. Tickets are free, you just need to reserve online. UBC women’s basketball is taking on Thompson Rivers University at War Memorial Gym at 3 pm on Saturday, then UBC men play TRU at 5 pm. UBC Men’s hockey team is taking on Calgary at Thunderbird Arena at 2 pm.
