INTERGENERATIONAL MARCH TO COMMEMORATE ORANGE SHIRT DAY
Saturday 11 am – 3 pm, Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre, 1985 Learner’s Walk, UBC, Vancouver
Join us for an intergenerational march to commemorate Orange Shirt Day (OSD). Members of the UBC community, families and those in solidarity are welcome to participate. The march is intergenerational, and aims to be educational and supportive to the Indigenous community on campus and beyond. Educational activities will allow younger participants to connect with the original inhabitants of the land and plant a seed to continue these conversations about a difficult era in Canadian history at home.
NATIONAL DAY FOR TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION 2023
Saturday 1 am – 2:30 pm, Memorial Peace Park, Maple Ridge
The theme of this year’s event is “The Healing Journey Continues Through Truth and Reconciliation”. This collaborative community event is hosted by PLEA, Katzie First Nation, Fraser River Indigenous Society and BC Spokes. It is proudly sponsored by Proudly sponsored by Canadian Heritage, RBC and the City of Maple Ridge.
We are also partnering with over 30 other local organizations and nonprofits to plan an inclusive and safe community event that supports learning about and supporting Truth and Reconciliation.
NISGA’A TS’AMIKS VANCOUVER SOCIETY ORANGE SHIRT DAY

Join Nisga’a Ts’amiks Vancouver Society to honour the lost children and survivors from the Indian Residential Schooling system. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate in the program.
MID AUTUMN MOON FESTIVAL – A CIRCUS OF DREAMS

COUGAR CREEK’S HOUSE OF HORRORS

Cougar Creek’s is an ultra-spooky haunted house comprised of a labyrinth-like walk-thru over a 15,000 square foot layout. It consists of several rooms and displays connected together by dark twisty hallways. Creepy actors, pouncing animatronics, custom digital sounds and many, many surprises await inside the halls of the House of Horrors.. enter if you dare!! Not recommended for kids under the age of 14.
IOCO GHOST TOWN DAY
Sunday 12 pm – 4 pm, Ioco Townsite, Port Moody
Guests will be able to wander around the area and learn about the history of the townsite through a self guided walking tour. The Community Hall will be open for viewing and Imperial Oil will be on site to talk about the refinery. There will be lots going on at the Inlet United Church that day; Expect Exceptional Theatre will be performing twice during the day at the Inlet United Church and in between performances there will be tours of the historic building and a short film about the townsite.
