Family Events for the Weekend of March 23 & 24

SURREY CARNIVAL

Saturday 12 pm – 10 pm & Sunday 12 pm – 6 pm, Guildford Town Centre

The final few days to enjoy West Coast Amusements, the largest Canadian midway operation in Western Canada. Featuring amazing rides like the Scrambler, Hurricane, Himalaya, and the classic Ferris Wheel, as well as lots for the younger kids in Kiddieland.

NIGHT QUEST

Saturday 7 pm – 9:30 pm, Pacific Spirit Park

Nature at night is a magical experience. Wander down forest trails decorated with glowing animal lanterns and meet friendly forest creatures who will delight you with nature tales. Register in advance for a designated entry time, all ages and free event. Allow 1 hour to complete.

MINI KIDS POP LIVE

Sunday 3 pm – 4:30 pm, The Commodore Ballroom

The Mini Pop Kids Live GOOD VIBES TOUR features family-friendly versions of today’s top hits. Featuring songs by Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Olivia Rodrigo, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa and some favourite throwbacks that kids and adults will love.

HOPPY HEIGHTS

Saturday & Sunday 9 am – 6 pm, Capilano Suspension Bridge

Hop on over to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park for egg-citing Spring Break adventures. The Park will be decorated for spring and will host special Easter-themed activities, presenting you and your family with the perfect way to enjoy the start of spring.

BEAR CREEK PARK EASTER TRAIN

Saturday & Sunday 10 am – 6 pm, Bear Creek Park, Surrey

Enjoy a train ride through the forest with full blown Easter Decor. Train will go around the forest and stop where the Easter egg hunt and fun begins. Egg Hunt, Arts & Crafts, Petting Zoo and much more!

SPRING BREAK SALMON RUN

Saturday & Sunday 10 am – 5 pm, The Gulf of Georgia Cannery, Steveston 

Every year, Pacific salmon brave the challenges of the West Coast’s waters to return to the homes where they were born, where they will lay eggs of their own and restart the salmon lifecycle. For a limited time only, take the place of the salmon and complete your own journey up and down the Cannery, facing series of salmon-themed activities, and return triumphant to your home stream! Visitors who complete all of the Cannery’s challenges will receive an exclusive prize connected to the theme of the salmon lifecycle.

STEVESTON TRAM

Saturday & Sunday 10 am – 4 pm, Steveston

Head to the Steveston Tram in the heart of Steveston Village and have fun exploring Richmond’s rich transportation heritage. Special family programming includes a scavenger hunt and more.

CELTIC FEST

Saturday 1 pm – 4 pm, Museum of Surrey

Immerse yourself in a day dedicated to Celtic music, dance and community. Discover the vibrant Celtic culture in BC through an array of activities and performances. Admission is free.

FAMILY NATURE FESTIVAL

Saturday 10 am – 3:30 pm, The Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve, Chilliwack

Enjoy a nature “touch table”, wildlife arts and craft station. a heron colony viewing and interpretation between 10 am – 1pm, and more.

EARTH HOUR

Saturday 8:30 pm

People and businesses across the Lower Mainland (and the world) are encouraged to turn off their lights at 8:30 pm to show support for the planet and its environment.
