Family Events for the Weekend of March 1 & 2

UBC PLAYOFF FEVER

Saturday & Sunday, War Memorial Gym and Doug Mitchell Arena

It is playoff time at UBC and there is a jam-packed weekend line-up of games going on. Women and Men’s Volleyball play Friday evening, and women again on Saturday at War Memorial Gym. Women’s basketball has a 3 pm Can West semi finals at War Memorial Gym ahead of the volleyball. And, the women’s hockey team is hosting playoffs with a game at Doug Mitchell Arena at 7 pm. UBC Baseball is early in their season, but they host a double header up on campus on Saturday! Tons of great sport games to take the kids out to.

VANCOUVER WHITECAPS VS LA GALAXY

Sunday 2 pm, BC Place

If you are looking for soccer action, the major league soccer season is back and the Vancouver Whitecaps are hosting the LA Galaxy at BC Place on Sunday.

BC TOY EXPO

Sunday 10 am – 3 pm, Agriplex Cloverdale Fairgrounds, Surrey

With over 90 tables of toys, whether you are looking to relive those childhood memories, or adding to your growing collection, there is sure to be something here for you!

KIDS FIRST

Saturday & Sunday 10 am – 4 pm, The Polygon Gallery, North Vancouver

Come get creative with a day of art-making and fun. Kids First is an opportunity for families of all kinds to create an in-house art project, based on the exhibitions being shown in the Gallery. The projects are geared towards children ranging in age from 5 to 12 years old, though there is no age requirement to participate. Admission is by donation.

JAPAN MARKET SPRING 2025

Saturday & Sunday 10 am – 5 pm, UBC Robson Square

There will be food, crafts, art, apparel and a wide variety of Japanese goods You will find unique Japanese style items from over 60 vendors! There will also be Japanese cultural entertainment such as calligraphy demo, tea ceremony, Yosakoi dance, Okinawa taiko, Kimono show and Iaido sword demo.

DELTA HOT CHOCOLATE FEST

All weekend, various locations across Delta

The Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival may have wrapped up but the Delta festival is in full swing. Visit any of the participating cafes and bakeries in Tsawwassen, Ladner, and North Delta to indulge in a specialty drink and pastry treat.
