MAPLE GROVE POOL OPENING

Saturday & Sunday 10:30 – 7 pm, Maple Grove Pool, Vancouver

One of my favourite public pools to visit with the kids opens this weekend! Maple Grove pool in Kerrisdale is a heated, outdoor shallow pool that is great for big and little kids. Online reservations are available.

STRAWBERRY PICKING

It is peak strawberry season! There are so many great farms around to visit and do some u-pick (or buy pre-picked). Check out my guide the best spots around Metro Vancouver.

BARD ON THE BEACH SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL

Saturday & Sunday showtimes, Vanier Park, Vancouver

Bard on the Beach is one of Canada’s largest not-for-profit, professional Shakespeare festivals. Set with the Vancouver coastline as a beautiful backdrop, this summer they are performing ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ and ‘The Two Gentlemen of Verona’ on the MainStage.

JAPAN MARKET SUMMER FESTIVAL

Saturday & Sunday 11 am – 7 pm, outside Vancouver Art Gallery

Come and enjoy some yummy Japanese food, shop for unique Japanese style crafts and merchandise from over 70 vendors. There will be Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancakes), crepe, Taiyaki, ice cream, Taiyaki, Yakitori, matcha drinks and so much more! Entertainment includes TATE sword performance collaboration with Taiko by Nori, Appare Yosakoi energetic dance, Okinawa Taiko and martial arts demonstrations.

STRATHCONA BLOCKS PARTY 2025

Saturday 12 pm – 5 pm, 800 Block of East Hastings, Vancouver

Join for an afternoon of community fun featuring: live music, tasty food trucks and kids’ activities, including free face painting, balloon art, chalk, and giant games, at the 840 E Hastings parking lot. Plus beverages and mini golf at the Strathcona Beer Garden.

SESAME STREET LIVE: SAY HELLO!

Sunday 2 pm, Abbotsford Centre

Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster, and their friends from Sesame Street are coming to your neighborhood to say hello! At Sesame Street Live! Say Hello, sing, dance, and play alongside your favourite furry friends.

LANGLEY COMMUNITY DAY

Saturday 11 am – 7 pm, Douglas Park, Langley

This family event promises a day of food, fun, and community spirit! Enjoy amazing food trucks, local entertainment, an artisan market and more for a celebration you won’t want to miss.

NATIONAL INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY

Saturday 10 am – 4 pm, Fort Langley National Historic Site

A special day of reflection, storytelling, and celebration, presented in collaboration with the Stalew Arts and Culture Society. Bring your friends and family for a day of learning, listening, and celebration. Everyone is welcome, and admission is free.

RIVER BASIN DAYS: SUMMER SOLSTICE SURPRISE

Saturday 2 pm – 3 pm, Deas Island Regional Park, Delta

River Basin Days is a series of outdoor public programs for families. Staff will guide you through one hour of activities, experiments, and art projects as we learn about the biodiversity of the great Fraser River. This month’s activity is headed to Deas Island Regional Park, located in Delta, to learn all about the power of the Sun during the summer solstice!

RIVERDANCE

Saturday & Sunday 2 pm & 7:30 pm shows, Queen Elizabeth Theatre

This spectacular production which shows a fusion of Irish and international dance and music is celebrating 30 years and rejuvenates the much-loved original show with new innovative choreography and costumes and state of the art lighting, projection and motion graphics.

VANCOUVER CANADIANS VS HILLBORO HOPS

Saturday and Sunday games at 1:05 pm, Nat Bailey Stadium

Experience the thrill of live baseball with the Vancouver Canadians, Minor League team and the High-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. Saturday is Blue Jays Day with a promotional bobblehead giveaway and Sunday is White Spot Family Fun Sunday.
