Welcome to the first weekend of July and the Canada Day long weekend! There are tons of great lists for Canada Day activities floating around online that I didn’t get around to doing my own this year…but if you are looking for something to do after the Canada Day festivities are over – then here is your guide to the weekend of July 2 and 3!

This amazing family festival takes place all long weekend. Live entertainment, food, a kids zone with Laughing loggers, lego building, face painting, bouncy castle, Port Moody Fire, Police, Arts Centre, Museum and more!

TAIWANESE CANADIAN CULTURAL FESTIVAL

Saturday 11:30 am – 9 pm and Sunday 11 am – 6 pm, Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza

Live performances, art, Taiwanese food and many other fun activities highlight this family friendly festival.

SUMMER DAYS DISCOVERIES

Saturday and Sunday 10 am – 4 pm, Fraser River Discovery Centre, New Westminster

Come and celebrate Canadian Wildlife all long weekend. The Fraser Watershed is home to an incredible variety of animals. Celebrate them with fascinating facts, interactive games, and crafts.

ROYAL CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL CIRCUS

Saturday and Sunday showtimes, Lansdowne Centre, Richmond

A family circus jam-packed with explosive live entertainment, featuring high-flying acrobatics, death-defying tricks, towering feats of strength, teetering towers of balanced bodies, extreme bending and devilishly precarious aerials!

THEATRE UNDER THE STARS

Saturday and Sunday showtimes, Malkin Bowl, Stanley Park

These family favourite theatre productions make their return this Saturday to Stanley Park. TUTS’ anticipated return to the stage offers two blockbuster musicals: a fresh, irreverent love letter to Broadway with Something Rotten! and a high-octane homage to rock-and-roll featuring the hits from legendary rock group Queen in We Will Rock You. Performances run all summer long.

DAVID LAM PARK JAZZ FESTIVAL

Saturday and Sunday 12 pm – 9 pm, David Lam Park, Vancouver

Coastal Jazz is presenting a whole weekend of free outdoor music at David Lam Park. Come down to the park to enjoy music of the world in Yaletown’s back yard. The weekend will feature indoor and outdoor stages, kids activities, food trucks, licensed bars, and more.
