26.02.2022

Welcome to the last weekend of February, what have you got planned? There are a number of great events and exhibits taking place around town. Here’s my guide to what’s going on February 26 and 27.

T.REX: THE ULTIMATE PREDATOR

Saturday and Sunday, 10 am – 5 pm, Science World

Have you got a dinosaur fan in the house? You are going to want to check out Science World’s newest exhibition. Encounter the prehistoric wonders of the late Cretaceous Period and come face-to-face with a 66-million-year-old marvel. You can walk through the world millions of years ago where this gigantic creature roamed the earth with a hunter’s keen senses.

LOVE LIGHTS

Saturday and SundayThe Capilano Suspension Bridge

This is the final weekend for this love themed light up spectacular at Capilano Suspension Bridge.

SUPER SATURDAYS: STURGEON SURVIVAL

Saturday, 10 am – 4 pm, Fraser River Discovery Centre, New Westminster

This month take a closer look at the Fraser River’s oldest and largest species of fish – white sturgeon! These ‘Ghosts of the Fraser’ can live for decades, but face many challenges throughout their lives, from egg to adulthood. Explore these challenges – and check out some real sturgeon specimens. Reserve your spot online.

BLACK HOLES: FAMILY NIGHT

Saturday, 6:30 pm – 9 pm, H.R. MacMillan Space Centre

This sounds like an awesome evening for slightly older kids. Enjoy a show in the Planetarium Star Theatre, and learn about black holes, the life cycle of stars and gravitational waves. Explore the exhibit space in our Cosmic Courtyard, take in a live science demonstration in the GroundStation Canada Theatre and check out the telescope in our Observatory.

FLYOVER CANADA: LEGENDARY ICELAND

There is a brand new show playing at Flyover Canada. Take off on an exhilarating flying ride that lets you soar, dive and dip through incredible Icelandic landscapes.
