NEW WESTMINSTER FAREWELL TO SUMMER FIREWORKS

Saturday 1 pm – 9:30 pm, New Westminster Quay

Head to the boardwalk for a day filled with artisan market vendors & exhibitors, live entertainment, fantastic food, and the piece de resistance: a Fireworks extraordinaire to captivate thousands of enchanted onlookers (fireworks at 9 pm).

MUSIC AND A MOVIE

Saturday 5 pm until late, Connaught Park, Vancouver

This free, family event invites everyone out to enjoy some music starting at 5 pm from Will’s Jams, Music with Marnie, Rock N’ Beau Dance party and more, then at dusk stay for the outdoor movie “Spiderman: No Way Home”

GATEWAY THEATRE SONGS OF SUMMER

Saturday 2 pm – 5 pm, Gateway Theatre Grove, Richmond

Tickets to attend are $10 each for this family event. Kids aged 4 years and under are free. DJ Miss Sparklez takes the stage to perform her favourite jams sure to get everyone moving. Then visual artist Laara Cerman will unleash an art activity plus fun theatre games, professional storytelling and more.

PNE FAIR

Saturday and Sunday 11 am until latePNE fairgrounds, East Hastings

The PNE fair is back for a second weekend! We go every summer and are looking forward to attending again this year. Rides, food, the Super Dogs, High Dive Show, live music and more.

PET-A-PALOOZA

Sunday 11 am – 4 pm, Yaletown

This is the west coast’s largest outdoor pet fair. Bring your pet to sample treats, food, accessories, toys, and get hooked up with loads of free swag! Plus enjoy events like yoga with adorable puppies, wiener dog races, corgi races, food trucks and more.

FESTIVAL OF INDIA

Sunday 11 am – dusk, Creekside Park, 1455 Quebec St, Vancouver

The celebrations begin with the procession along the walk-way around False Creek from the festival site (Creekside) to Hinge Park. At Hinge Park there will be refreshments and short entertainment before returning to the main festival site at Creekside Park. At the main festival site live entertainment, food, a children’s zone and more.

ITALIAN DAY

Sunday 12 pm – 9 pm, Grandview Park, Vancouver

Commercial Drive will NOT be closed but Grandview Park and side streets will be fully activated in a village style setting to include all fan favourites: food stands and trucks; merchants and other vendors; live music and fashion; Il Giardino – food, wine and beer court; contests and activities; children’s area with crafts, and more.

COMMUNITY PADDLING DAY

Saturday starting at 12:30 pm, Creekside Community Centre, Vancouver

Come on out with your friends and family and learn to dragon boat for free! You will be supplied with all the equipment you’ll need as well as an instructor to guide you through the basics of paddling as you enjoy a quick tour around False Creek. Paddling sessions start at 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, and 2:30 pm. All welcome.

FINAL WEEKEND OF THEATRE UNDER THE STARS

Saturday 8 pm, Malkin Bowl, Stanley Park

The final show of the season! You can watch ‘We Will Rock You’ – a very fun musical featuring the tunes of Queen. Not for little kids but we took our two older kids to this one earlier in the summer and had a wonderful time!

HARVEST SEASON AT RICHMOND LAVENDERLAND

All weekend long 10 am – 8 pm, 8460 Steveston Hwy

It’s harvest season at Richmond Lavenderland which means you can go and see them in action and how they make their essential oils. General admission is 50% off during this time, or receive a free entry when making a gift shop purchase.

RICHMOND SUNFLOWER FESTIVAL

Saturday and Sunday 10 am – 6 pm, Richmond Country Farms

Brought to you by the same family that runs the Richmond pumpkin patch, the sunflower festival is a fantastic place to take the family. Walk among the sunflower maze and the fields of endless sunflowers and dahlias. Lots of gorgeous spots to take a family photo too.

CHILLIWACK SUNFLOWER FESTIVAL

Saturday and Sunday 10 am – 6 pm41310 Royalwood Drive, Chilliwack

15 acres of farm brimming with gorgeous flowers. 50 varieties of sunflowers planted in each of the three display gardens, plus more than 50 varieties of dahlias. There are u-pick sunflowers, plus ice cream and snacks and numerous photo opportunities.
