RICHMOND SUNFLOWER FESTIVAL

Brought to you by the same family that runs the Richmond pumpkin patch, the sunflower festival is a fantastic place to take the family. Walk among the sunflower maze and the fields of endless sunflowers and dahlias. Lots of gorgeous spots to take a family photo too.
CHILLIWACK SUNFLOWER FESTIVAL
Saturday and Sunday 10 am – 6 pm, 41310 Royalwood Drive, Chilliwack
15 acres of farm brimming with gorgeous flowers. 50 varieties of sunflowers planted in each of the three display gardens, plus more than 50 varieties of dahlias. There are u-pick sunflowers, plus ice cream and snacks and numerous photo opportunities.
RICHMOND GARLIC FEST
Sunday 10 am – 3 pm, Sharing Farm, 2771 Westminster Hwy, Richmond
Spend the day enjoying live music, shopping for local goods and produce, observing raptor demonstrations, playing in the kid’s zone, savouring delicious foods and taking part in various free workshops.
BC DUMPLING FESTIVAL
Saturday 11 am – 8 pm, Coquitlam Town Centre Park
This festival is a celebration of the diverse community and brings together families, friends, neighbours, community organizations and businesses from different cultures to share food and entertainment. Lots of food trucks and live entertainment. Admission is free.
RIBFEST LANGLEY
Saturday and Sunday 11 am – 9 pm, McLeod Park, Langley
This is a free family-friendly festival that’s hosted by area Rotary clubs and features live music, BBQ-ed ribs and craft beer. In addition to barbecued ribs, other foods for sale included vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, as well as fried potatoes, mini doughnuts, ice cream, corn on the cob and berry pies. There is also a kid zone with lots of family activities.
GREENDALE ACRES CORN MAZE
Saturday 10 am – 9 pm and Sunday 10 am – 6 pm, Greendale Acres, 41905 Yale Road, Chilliwack
Greendale Acres has partnered with Science World to launch the 24th Chilliwack Corn Maze. This year, the design of the 12 acre corn maze, which boasts a giant T.rex. The maze opens Saturday at 10am with live music starting at 6pm. You can also enjoy a jumping pillow, rope adventure course, bubble bar, pedal cart track, hay bale maze, animal displays, farm carousel and more!
RIVER BASIN DAYS
Saturday 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm and 2 pm to 3 pm, Barnet Marine Park, Burnaby
Held on the second Saturday of every month, ‘River Basin Days’ is a series of outdoor public programs hosted by the Fraser River Discovery Centre, geared towards families. This month is being held at Barnet Marine Park where kids can practice drawing from life! Learn some observational sketching techniques, play some art games, and paint using real ocean water! No experience necessary – this workshop is for all ages and abilities. Pre registration online recommended.
GRAVE TALES IN FORT LANGLEY
Saturday 9 pm – midnight, Fort Langley Historic Site
This one would be for the older kids capable of staying up until midnight! Join expert storytellers for a three-hour program of spine-chilling stories, as you walk through the Fort Langley village at night.
DELTA COMMUNITY ANIMAL EXPO
Sunday 10 am – 3 pm, Ladner Memorial Park
Bring your leashed friendly dog(s) and check out the local vendors and pet organizations, participate in games and contests which include the Poop Through the Hoop Contest, Rubber Ducky Relay, and new this year, Plinko. There will also be demonstrations in dog agility, training, and scent tracking including the Delta Police; all while enjoying the food trucks and learning about amazing animals and pets for adoption.
