Thanksgiving feels like THE weekend to hit up a pumpkin patch (I know my family is going to try and make it out to one). Expect it to get busy, so consider going early, but there are so many choices. CANYON FRIGHTS
Saturday-Monday 10 am – 8 pm, Capilano Suspension Bridge, North Vancouver
Head to the Capilano Suspension Bridge for some Halloween fun amidst lights and trees. Step into the frightful forest and meet your haunted hosts, Elizabeth and Mac, the former owners of Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. The spirited duo will pop up throughout the park, adding a spooky charm to your visit.
GHOST TRAIN IN STANLEY PARK
Saturday-Monday, Stanley Park Railway, Vancouver
It is opening weekend for Stanley Park’s Ghost Train. Climb aboard for Ghosts in the Graveyard, a rollicking ride filled with supernatural surprises and spectacularly spooky sights! Watch as unsuspecting trick-or-treaters encounter the creepy characters who make the graveyard their home. Unfortunately, tickets for this are now sold out.
HALLOWEEN TREATS AND CRAFTS
Saturday 11 am – 12 pm, Coquitlam Heritage at Mackin House
Spend an afternoon in our museum and decorate Alice in Wonderland themed cookies, make a craft, and listen to a story time session in our parlour.
CRANBERRY FESTIVAL
Saturday 10 am – 5 pm, Fort Langley National Historic Site

Explore the juicy history of cranberries through lively demonstrations, slip on your stomping boots, and savor mouthwatering cranberry treats. GRANVILLE ISLAND TURKEY TROT
Monday 8:30 am, Granville Island, 1812 Maritime Mews, Vancouver
The Granville Island Turkey Trot is a hallmark event for Granville Island and the Vancouver running community. The annual event brings together runners in a celebration of Thanksgiving and running. Run, walk or stroll the 10 km route or join the kids run that starts at 8:50 am.
RIVER BASIN DAYS: SPONTANEOUS SALMON
Saturday 12 pm – 3 pm, Kanaka Creek Regional Park, Maple Ridge
Held on the second Saturday of every month, ‘River Basin Days’ is a series of outdoor public programs hosted by the Fraser River Discovery Centre, geared towards families. This month, we are headed to Kanaka Creek Regional Park, located in Maple Ridge, to learn about the salmon lifecycle, observe distinguishable features from each stage of life, and discover how water quality can impact the life of a salmon!
