The cherry blossoms are out, the weather is warming and spring has officially arrived. I love this time of year and all of the hope and spring fun that accompanies Easter weekend. There are lots of family-friendly events taking place over the Easter long weekend if you are looking for something to check out with the kids. Here is my guide to what’s taking place for Easter in and around Vancouver.
Stanley Park Easter Train
April 15-18, 10 am – 4pm, Stanley Park Railway
Tickets are going super fast for the Stanley Park Easter Train, so act fast if you haven’t got yours yet! Take an egg-citing train ride through the forest, and after the train ride, kids can have fun meeting the Easter Bunny, chasing bubbles, and checking out the fun displays on the plaza.
Vancouver Aquarium Scuba Bunny
April 2-18, operating hours, The Vancouver Aquarium
Maybe you’ve visited Scuba Santa there before but now, for the first time ever, see Scuba Bunny swimming among colourful fish and other aquatic creatures on his daily dives at 1 pm. You can also participate in a Sea Search Scavenger hunt. Follow the trail of blue eggs and answer trivia questions on your quest to win a prize.
Easter Carnival in Coal Harbour
April 16, 10 am – 12 pm, Coal Harbour Community Centre
This event is for the younger kids aged 2-7 yrs old. Join the Easter Bunny for an Easter egg hunt, arts & craft, play time. The excitement will also include a bouncy castle, face painting, balloon making, a photo booth and Mike’s Critters! Parent participation is required. Pre-registration is recommended.

Big Easter Run
April 16, 11:30 am – 4:00 pm, Jericho Beach Park
You can do a 5 km or 10 km run or walk, strollers are welcome. But there is also a 1 km race for younger kids too. Little ones taking part are also invited to take part in an egg hunt at 1 pm. And to complete the festive atmosphere, the Big Bunny Run will feature a live DJ, prize giveaways, vendors, and more.
Baby Animal Easter Days at Maan Farms
April 15-17, Maan Farms, 790 McKenzie Rd, Abbotsford
Spend Easter Weekend snuggling baby animals, trying some Egg-cellent Ice Cream, and gallivanting with the Easter Bunny. Don’t forget to hunt for the Golden Egg to win the grand prize!
Easter Egg Hunt at Meadows Family Farm
April 15-18, Meadows Family Farm, 12377 248th Street, Maple Ridge
All day Easter egg hunts, face painting, crafts, baby farm animals, bunny burrow maze, pictures with the Easter Bunny, train rides, playground and more!

Petey’s Easter Eggstravaganza
April 14-18, 10 am – 5 pm, 9423 Gibson Rd, Chilliwack
Come visit the new baby animals, grab a photo with the Easter Bunny, take a ride on the Easter express around the farm and take part in an Easter egg hunt.
Easterfest at Taves Farm
April 15-18, 9 am – 4 pm, 333 Gladwin Rd, Abbotsford
Bring out the family and take a hay ride down to the Bunny Trail to embark on an egg hunt. Visit the farm animals in the petting barn and Farmville, enjoy the peddle karts, jumping pillows, and play structures. Find an egg-stra special egg in the orchard and you could even win a family day pass to the Applebarn for this fall!
Easter at the Cannery
April 15-18, 10 am – 5 pm, Gulf of Georgia Cannery, Steveston
a fun-filled family friendly weekend featuring crafts, story time, games, and of course, the annual Easter Salmon Scavenger Hunt! All inside the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site.
Rabbitats Easter BunnyFest
April 16 and 17, 10 am – 4 pm, Lavenderland, 8460 Steveston Highway, Richmond
You’ll get a chance to join in the Meet & Treat, where you can watch the rabbits or join them in their enclosure to feed them treats. There will be also be a market with crafts and goodies including places for kids to make crafts, get their faces painted, play games, and win prizes. Minimum $5 donation at the door.

Rotary Club of Tsawwassen Easter Fun
April 16, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm, Diefenbaker Park
Free Family Fun open to everyone. Easter Egg Hunt, Pancake Breakfast, Animal Farm, Cookie Decorating, Balloons, Face Painting and Pony rides!
North Delta Lions Club’s Easter Event
April 17, 2 pm, Sunbury Park, North Delta
Free family event where everyone is welcome. The hunt is for ages 1-11 years old, and will run rain or shine. Donations will be collected by the concession stand to keep fundraising in North Delta.
Ladner Easter Parade
April 17, 1 pm – 2 pm, Ladner Village
The parade begins at 1 p.m. at the Historic Delta Municipal Hall and Ladner Community Police Station and proceeds down Delta Street to an Easter egg hunt at Memorial Park. Don’t forget to wear your bunny ears and decorate your bike, wagon or stroller. This is a free family event.

Easter Egg Hunt and Train Ride at Bear Creek Park
April 15-18, 10 am – 6 pm, Bear Creek Park Train and Mini Golf, Surrey
Enjoy a train ride through the forest with Easter decor. Enjoy an Easter egg hunt and treat bag. Take a photo with the Easter bunny and then enjoy a play in the playground.
Easter Fun Day in Pitt Meadows
April 17, 10 am – 2 pm, Harris Rd Park, Pitt Meadows
In order to limit crowding and to make sure the Easter Bunny has enough supplies for everyone – register for one of three time slots: (10am-11:30am /11:30am-1pm /1pm-2:30pm). Pre-registration will ensure families have plenty of time to enjoy the scavenger hunt, crafts, face painting, horsey hops and sack races before the next group arrives.
Easter at Britannia Mine Museum
April 15 – 18, Britannia Mine Museum
Event admission includes a special seasonal underground tour and access to the BOOM! Experience in the historic Mill. After your guided experience, you can complete a self-led scavenger hunt. Visitors who successfully find all of the mineral clues on site can earn a special geological prize. Advanced bookings are recommended.
