DOWNTON ABBEY FLEURS DE VILLE

Van Dusen Gardens is hosting the latest ‘Fleurs De Ville” exhibit from May 23 – June 1. This year’s theme is Downton Abbey and visitors will be transported to early 20th-century England immersive experience will feature a curated collection of one-of-a-kind fresh floral mannequins inspired by the series’ unforgettable characters and iconic period fashion. I just visited this today – and it was gorgeous! Included in regular admission to the gardens.
VAN DUSEN SPRING STRINGS

Low Strung, a classically-trained cello group from Yale University, returns to the Garden with 2 performances on the Great Lawn. Enjoy an outdoor concert with modern hits from artists like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Amy Winehouse, Coldplay, and more—reimagined entirely on cellos.
BC POLISH FESTIVAL
Sunday 1 pm – 9 pm, Leigh Square, Port Coquitlam
Enjoy a full day of homemade Polish food — pierogies, barbequed sausages, hunter’s stew, potato pancakes, ham hocks, and famous Polish cakes and pastries. LADNER MAY DAYS

The Ladner May Days Fair is one of British Columbia’s largest free family fairs, featuring live bands, free entertainment, a market, carnival rides, and a beer garden for the adults. The Sunday activities kick-off with a pancake breakfast followed at noon by the May Days Parade (theme this year is superheroes and villains).
HYACK INTERNATIONAL PARADE AND FESTIVAL

The annual Hyack International Parade (at 11 am) is our province’s largest family-oriented parade with over 120 entries from throughout BC, Washington, and Oregon. Following the parade, the Hyack Festival (1 pm – 5 pm) turns Tipperary Park into a hub of free entertainment, music and activities for people of all ages, while supporting local Vendors, Food Trucks and other Artisan Creators to display and sell their creations. Families can drop by for free face-painting, crafts, games and free musical entertainment that will provide the perfect backdrop for a festival to remember.
BMO DAY OF MUSIC PRESENTED BY VSO
Saturday 10 am – 10 pm, multiple stages, Vancouver
Join the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra for a full day of FREE musical delights spread across multiple stages, including the Orpheum, VSO School of Music, Christ Church Cathedral, and various stages in Yaletown, TELUS Garden, Deloitte, and Arts Umbrella. With over 100 performances to enjoy, there’s something for everyone in the family. Cap off the day with a free concert by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra at 8pm.
