RICHMOND CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL

Sunday 11 am – 4 pm, Garry Point Park, Richmond

The Richmond Cherry Blossom Festival returns bringing the community together to enjoy the beauty of the cherry blossom alongside the cultural richness of Japan. The Hanami Tent will offer displays and demonstrations from local artisans including calligraphy, bonsai and origami, as well as the opportunity to experience a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony. In the Sakura Tent, visitors can experience an Ikebana demonstration, and performances by Taiko drummers, folk singers and dancers. Children of all ages are invited to the Chibi-Chan Tent to learn how to fold origami creatures using special Japanese paper and techniques. And enjoy food from local vendors!

VANCOUVER CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL BLOCK PARTY

Saturday 2 pm – 9 pm, Dunsmuir Patio at Bentall Centre, 1300 Pacific Blvd

A one day block party in the heart of downtown Vancouver. This free, all ages celebration features DJs playing feel good dance music, a pop-up bar, dance performances, kids activities, snacks and social spaces. No ticket required

DAN BROWN’S WILD SYMPHONY

Sunday 2 pm, The Orpheum Theatre, Vancouver

Embark on a journey of discovery and friendship with Wild Symphony, an interactive picture book and live concert experience detailing the adventures of Maestro Mouse and his companions from the animal kingdom. Fusing family-friendly sounds and pithy poetry with a positive message. Tickets range between $20-$36.

KIDS FIRST

Saturday & Sunday 10 am – 4 pm, The Polygon Gallery, North Vancouver

Kids First is an opportunity for families of all kinds to create an in-house art project, based on the exhibitions being shown in the Gallery. The projects are geared towards children ranging in age from 5 to 12 years old, though there is no age requirement to participate. Admission is by donation.

STORYTIME WITH FRIENDS BUNNY CAFE

Sunday 3:20 pm and 4:45 pm, Petite Foret Play Cafe, 2668 W.4th, Vancouver

Join Miss J to meet her sweet little bunnies while we carefully pet and feed them. Let the furry friends hop around you during a story time circle. This event is open to 4-7 year olds. Parents must be on site, not a drop-off event. Tickets required.

BEAR CREEK PARK EASTER TRAIN

Saturday & Sunday 10 am – 6 pm, 13750 88th ave, Surrey

Enjoy a train ride through the forest with full blown Easter Decor. Train will go around the forest and stop where the Easter egg hunt and fun begins. Egg Hunt, Arts & Crafts, Petting Zoo and much more! $15 per ticket, children 2 and under are free.

THE VANCOUVER REPTILE EXPO

Saturday & Sunday 10 am – 5 pm, South Delta Recreation Centre

If you have a kid who is interested in reptiles…check out BC’s fastest growing reptile expo with snakes, lizards, frogs, tortoises, arachnids, feeders, supplies and so much more.

CHILLIWACK PLOWING MATCH

Saturday 9 am – 6 pm, Greendale Acres Farm, Chilliwack

This special family friendly event will be a good old fashioned day on the farm. The Chilliwack Plowing Match will draw plowmen from a wide area across BC who bring a mix of modern and vintage equipment to compete in different classes and put their skills against one another. Visitors can enjoy a pancake breakfast, animal displays, fun attractions, tractor rides, live music and more!

SPRING CRAFTS AT THE MUSEUM

Saturday 10:30 am – 3:30 pm, Coquitlam Heritage at Mackin House

Stop by the museum on Saturdays in April for some self-guided spring and Easter themed arts and crafts. Visit anytime during open hours for colouring pages and craft making, all materials provided.

RICHMOND CARNIVAL

Saturday & Sunday 12 pm – 10 pm, Lansdowne Centre, Richmond

West Coast Amusements, the largest Canadian midway operation in Western Canada is now visiting Richmond. Enjoy lots of rides for all ages like the Scrambler, Hurricane, Himalaya, and the classic Ferris Wheel. Also enjoy lots of fair food and midway games.
