Kids and youth will take on adult-sized roles, working alongside staff and volunteers to participate and promote arts and culture at UBC. There will be kid-friendly arts festival featuring plays, live music, tours, costumes, makeup, dance, youth-led arts, a marching band, a photo booth, and food.

BIG BANG FESTIVAL

Entry to the BIG BANG Festival is free with various free activities such as face painting, the Bounce House, a lively carnival band, plus our ticketed events, two music rooms where you’ll discover a variety of musical genres, each creating a unique and immersive experience.
BURNABY VILLAGE MUSEUM FAMILY DAY
Monday 10 am – 3:45 pm, Burnaby Village Museum
Gather the family and explore the Love farmhouse, one of Burnaby’s oldest surviving buildings dating back to 1893. Museum Interpreters will be available to tell stories of the families that lived there and how the multigenerational occupants influenced the development of the house. Then, you’ll get to spend some quality time crafting a folded paper model home using upcycled materials. There will also be a few heritage games to try. Free admission.

Plenty of activities will keep the family entertained during your visit, including hourly storytelling sessions, entertainment from singer & stilt walker Peter G-G, a visit from the Canadian Coast Guard, tours of The Blue Cabin and Oarlock & Sail Wooden Boat Club. This event will feature music, performances, food, vendors to browse through, organizations to connect with, and activities for kids that celebrate the history and culture of the Black Diaspora. This event is organized by the Coquitlam Heritage Society and will be taking place at the Maillardville Community Centre. Free to attend.
